The £34m hotel and apartment development, which is located within a stone’s throw of the world-renowned beaches of the Llyn Peninsula, will comprise a 42-bedroom hotel with spa over three floors and the top two floors of the building will accommodate luxury apartments.

The two and three bedroom apartments will have private balconies providing outstanding views of the sea and surrounding countryside and also access to the hotel facilities including a gym, spa, restaurant and bars.

The project is constructed into a sloping site with a presence of shallow bedrock, and therefore has required the design and detailing of a number of semi basement structures to facilitate the tiered layout of the development. The design incorporates a steel frame superstructure supported by inset concrete shallow foundations and rafts, that look to minimise the amount of rock cutting and challenging site excavations.

With multiple residential and leisure uses located across the development levels the scheme has required careful consideration of framing and building column layouts in order that as far as possible transfer elements are avoided, which also allows the building overall height to be optimised and realised within the constraints of planning obligations and the buildings impact on the surrounding areas.

Sustainable drainage and surface water management is incorporated within the scheme, with the innovative use of blue and green roofs integrated into the architectural intent of the building fabric and external works.
