Job Description:
This is a full-time role for a Graduate Civil Engineer based in our Altrincham office, with flexibility for some hybrid work.
The successful Graduate Engineer will play a key part in project teams assisting/working with Senior Team members/Project Managers to produce high quality deliverables such as:
- Private external works design packages
- Section 278 and 38 construction packages
- Private drainage designs
- Drainage modelling
- Section104 drainage packages
- 3D Earthworks assessments
- Technical report writing
- Production of Flood Risk Assessments
- Production of vehicle tracking exercises
The successful Graduate Engineer should be able to apply their own knowledge to developing basic construction drawings themselves as well as supervising elements of packages using AutoCAD/Civil3D software and be able to work within a team under the direction of Senior staff on large scale projects.
They should be able to work within a team and be able to converse with the wider Kennedy Redford staff to resolve design issues.

Graduate Engineers will be expected to contribute to the technical excellence of the team and can expect considerable experience on a variety of interesting and challenging projects.
General Responsibilities:
- Assistance in preparation of conceptual layouts
- Keep up to date with latest software packages
- Keep up to date with industry guideline changes and apply these to projects
- Production of construction drawing packages
- Liaison with technical team members both internally and externally
- Liaison with approving statutory bodies as required
- Undertaking surveys, and site visits
- Undertaking research for projects
- Manage elements of projects as appropriate
- Developing innovative solutions to serve and benefit Clients
- Reviewing and/or producing of Civil 3D outputs
- Attendance at design team meetings as required
Qualifications:
Essential:
- BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering
- Good communicator (written and verbal)
- Good team player to contribute to dynamic group
- Desire to be Chartered through relevant Professional Bodies (eg ICE)
- Competent in using Microsoft Office (eg Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desirable:
- MSc/MEng in Civil Engineering
- Graduate Member of the ICE
- Awareness of Section 278/38 and Section 104 design and procedures
- Awareness of highway and drainage design standards and principals
- Basic experience of AutoCAD or Civil 3D
- Proven technical track record and ability
